Temple Square

I went to Temple Square twice in the last 3 days to see the lights. Drew and I went down Saturday and came back Sunday and then I went down and back Monday with a group of friends. It was a lot of driving but the lights were way pretty and I had a lot of fun both of the trips! I love Christmas Season and have been so busy this year I haven't had much time to enjoy it.

HaLlOwEeN!

For school this year I dressed up as a homeless man. It was so hot and miserable but the kids loved it and not one person knew who I was until they heard me talk. Then on Halloween I dressed up as the Jamaican again. I didn't know what to be and it was a big hit last year so I just changed the costume up a bit. I was glad I did it because I won the costume contest at the bowling alley and won a $20 gift card. I love Halloween and had a ton of fun this year the whole month of October. My friends and I went to 5 different haunted houses from Dr. Slaughter's to the one in Albion. My friends get scared way easy and so they were a ton of fun to go with!

We stayed with a friend in Malta the weekend we went to Albion.

Kayson Bowen

On October 8th Candee finally had Kayson. She wasn't due until the 10th but I really wanted her to have him early because I was leaving for Denver. Of course, she went into labor just hours after I left so I didn't get to see him until a few days after he was born. He is SO cute!

DENVER

During Spud Harvest Brooke and I went to Denver to visit Ann. I was wanting to go somewhere hot with a beach but Denver was still fun even though it did snow 2 of the days. We didn't do a whole lot because it was so cold but we did go to a circus one night and got to see Wicked! I can't even remember the last time I went to a circus and Wicked was so amazing! I have only seen one other Broadway play but I liked Wicked so much better. We also went shopping and ate some good food. It was great to spend time with Ann's little family and it was such a fun trip. This was the first year we only got one week for our harvest break and it went way too fast. Now I'm back to work and looking forward to Thanksgiving!

Bear Lake

About a month ago some friends and I went to Bear Lake for the weekend. It was so much fun! It was my first time going there and I loved it! We played games, went boating, played volleyball, and rode jet skis. The lake is gorgeous and the place we stayed at was right on the lake. It was an awesome weekend!

Homecoming Week!

Spirit Day (It was tough rounding up Madison clothes, I would have been more comfortable in blue/white)

All one color day

Yes, I was miserable :)

Western Day

Random Day

When I was in high school I never got very into dressing up but for some reason as a teacher I always go all out when it comes to dress up days. This week was homecoming week and so I dressed up for school every day. The things I do for Jr. High kids :)

Rodney Atkins Concert

My friends and I went to the Rodney Atkins concert at the Blackfoot fair. It was a way good concert and we had a ton of fun! Then the next night I went down to the fair with my mom and Candee and we went to a hypnotist show and the Demolition Derby. I am not a huge fan of the million people at the fair but the foods good!

SAN DIEGO!!!

The week before school started I got to spend the whole week in San Diego. It was a very fun packed week and it was hard to come back home and get started back with school. I love San Diego and think I could handle living there for a few years.

Monday: My friends Jan, Whitney, and Janey drove to San Diego from Provo but I had to stay for a friends wedding reception so I flew down a day later and they picked me up from the airport. We went straight to Sea World from the airport and spent the day there. It amazes me how well the animals are trained there. It was so much fun!

Tueday: Jan, Bryan, and I left at 4:30 a.m. to go deep sea fishing. This was my first time doing this and it was awesome! We caught a bunch of sea bass, a calico bass, baracuda, and rock fish. Someone else on the boat even caught an octopus. It was way cool catching those fish. When we got done we showered real quick and then went to the beach for the rest of the day where we boogie boarded and played around. It was SO great to be at a beach. After spending all last summer in Hawaii I have been going through major withdrawals!

Wednesday: We got up and went to the San Diego temple. I LOVE this temple and would love to get married there. It is seriously so beautiful. All my friends did a session and I went shopping and bought way too much. Then we went to the beach and went ocean kayaking. We saw a bunch of sea lions and seals and swam and snorkeled with leopard sharks and stingrays. They were about 5-6 feet but don't bother humans. It was way cool. We hung out at the beach for a long time and then went downtown and got some dinner.

Thursday: My friends went home Thursday morning and so Christy, a friend from high school, picked me up and I spent the rest of the trip with her. We went to Torrey Pines and went hiking for a couple hours on these cliffs that were awesome! Then we boogie boarded and surfed at Mission Beach. It was my first time trying to surf and it was probably the hardest thing I have ever tried but it was way fun. We picked another friend from high school, Ammi, up from the airport and went home and showered and then went and ate and went to a Padres game. The stadium was amazing and the game was way fun!

Friday: We got up at 4:30 again and drove about an hour and a half to catch a ferry to Catalina Island. We then spent the whole day hanging out on the island. We took a trolley tour, walked around all the shops, ate some good food, snorkeled, and hung out at the beach. It was a little chilly this day but it was still awesome! My favorite thing about the island was that the main form of transportation was golf carts.

Saturday: This was my last day and I had to be to the airport at 3 so we got up and headed straight to the beach. Who knows when I am going to make it back to a beach so I had to spend all the time I could at one. I tried surfing again, boogie boarded some more, and we walked the boardwalk and checked out some of the shops. Then on my way to the airport we drove over the Coronado bridge and checked out the town for a few minutes. It was such a great trip! The days were all packed from early morning until late at night but that's how I like it. Now I am back to school and wishing I lived anywhere but Idaho.

A Fun Packed Week!

I have wanted to go to Union Falls for years and finally got the chance! We rode horses 14 miles and then hiked 2 miles to the falls. They were seriously amazing! They were a lot bigger than I expected and so cool. There is also an awesome swimming hole about a half a mile from where we tied up our horses that has a hot spring coming in so it is the perfect temperature. I couldn't touch anywhere in the pool and there was a rock you could jump off of. I had so much fun I guess it was worth the wait!

I went camping at Palisades and then got up early the next morning and hiked to the Palisades Lake. I know this is so sad but I had actually never been to Palisades and so it was way fun to see. It was so pretty and the hike was awesome!
I also went to Salmon and hiked to the hot pots for my friends birthday and went horse riding out to Kilgore. I just don't have pictures from either of those right now. I have gotten to do a lot of fun things this past month and it makes me sick to think summer is almost over. I am really dreading going back to school.

July Adventures!

Last weekend I had so much fun! Friday I went on a 113 mile 4-wheeler ride with the Ostermillers. We rode from Ashton to West Yellowstone and back. It was such a pretty ride and we got to see a moose, buck, elk, and antelope along the way. As you can tell from the pics it was a little dusty and by the time I was done I was literally covered in dirt from head to foot. I didn't even attempt to wash my shirt, I just threw it away. Saturday I got to go boating for the first time in 2 years. We went to Ririe and it was a blast! I love summer and never want it to end.

For those of you who don't know I am the new Varsity tennis coach at Madison. Yes, that is the one sport I didn't play at all in high school and I have so much to learn. When they were trying to talk me into doing it I told them the only way I would is if they would send me to a coaches clinic. There are no tennis coaching clinics anywhere around so instead they sent me to a Nike tennis camp in Sun Valley. The entry fee alone was $500 but they paid for me to go learn how to play and it was so much fun! Tennis has become my new love this summer and I play at least once a day. Candee and my mom came with me and we had a lot of fun. The one day we went for a drive to Redfish Lake and it was so gorgeous. I have never been there and I loved that country. We just shopped, drove around, ate some good food, and hung out for 3 days. My mom and Candee even got to see Lebron James. He rode his bike right past them and my mom said hi to him. There was some huge conference in Sun Valley that weekend with Oprah, Bill Gates, Lebron, and a ton of other famous people.

My Cute Nephews!

My whole family was up for the 4th of July and it was so much fun spending time with all of them. We went to the good old Rexburg parade and had a barbeque. Then a few days later my mom and I went to the zoo with Carlee and her boys. They were so dang cute and loved it! I have decided I have the cutest nephews in the world and I love spending time with them.

Cruisin in Style!

Brooke, Kimmi, and I drove from my house into Sugar City on the moped. It was a tight fit and we went over a bump and messed up the muffler so now it sounds like I'm driving a pimped out bullet bike but it was way fun! We used to spend a lot of hours cruisin around on the moped but this was the first time I've ever had 3 people on it.

Road Trip

Brooke had a timeshare she needed to use so her, Lacey, Chelsey, Kimmi, and I loaded up in a mini van and headed to St. George and Vegas for a few days. We stayed 2 nights in both places. The condos were awesome and we had so much fun! We met our friend Krystle in St. George and she went to Vegas with us too. We ate a lot, shopped a lot, hung out at the pool, and hung out on the strip in Vegas. We also got to experience "the crack" in St. George which is a way sweet hike. There is this crack between 2 huge rocks and it looks impossible to get through but if you stand sideways you can barely make it. There were a couple parts I thought I was going to get stuck but we all survived and loved it. I also got to ride the New York New York roller coaster which was awesome! We had so much fun and it was hard to come home. Especially the fact that we went from 90 degree weather to pouring rain. Now once again I am asking myself why in the heck I live in Idaho. Thanks Brooke for putting everything together and letting us enjoy your timeshare with you!

Memorial Day

Chelsea and Brock came up Memorial Day weekend so we went camping to Island Park. My brother-in-law's family owns a way cool camping spot by Sawtelle that they let us go to. We went up to Yellowstone and spent a few hours there and went to the Playmill. We tried on some pretty sweet shirts in Yellowstone. Chelsea even bought hers! I haven't went camping in a long time and it was way fun. We even fit all 4 of us in a little tent and 3 of us on the same air mattress. I got a little claustrophobic but stayed warm!

Family Pics!

We had family pictures taken a couple of weeks ago. We do not have this done very often at all and these ones didn't turn out very good but here they are.

Conference Weekend

I got to go down to Conference this weekend for my first time. My friend Jan's aunt is Sis. Beck so we got awesome seats! We also got to have lunch with the General Relief Society, Young Women's and Primary presidencies. It was such a cool experience!

I stayed with my friend Chelsea and got to hang out with her and Brock. It was such a fun weekend!

Thursday, April 2, 2009

I just got back last week from a 7 day Southern Caribbean cruise. It was my 4th cruise and definitely my favorite one yet! We flew to Puerto Rico and spent a day there before we left on the cruise. We went to St. Thomas, Dominica, Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua, and St. Kitts. We were on an island every day of the cruise. Then when we got back we spent an extra 2 days in Puerto Rico. We went to some of the prettiest places I have ever seen. We went on a tour every day so we got to see a lot of each island. We hung out at the beach a ton, went snorkeling, swam in waterfalls, floated a river, went on an off-road safari, played with monkeys, and too many more things to list. The weather was amazing and we had so much fun! We were on a pretty sweet ship too with a waterslide, movie theater screen outside by the pool and a miniature golf course. The only problem was that we weren't on the ship long enough to enjoy too much of it. The one thing I did enjoy was the 24 hour ice cream machine :) (Except for the fact I gained 7 pounds and I think a lot of it was because of my several bowls of ice cream a day) It has been SO hard to come back to Idaho and the snow after being in 90 degree weather. I have probably asked myself 20 times a day since we got home why in the heck I live here.

Snowmobile Trip

This past weekend I went on a snowmobile trip to McCall. I haven't had that much fun in a weekend in a long time. We left for Boise Wednesday and then drove up to McCall Thursday morning and stayed until Saturday. We snowmobilled a ton, ate amazing food, swam at these sweet hot springs, and just hung out at the cabin. It was the first time all winter I have done anything in the snow and I have to admit, I had so much fun! My friend Jan's old bishop took us and he has got to be the coolest old man I have ever met. He took us last year too and he goes all out and spends so much money on us. The best part was riding with this kid named Landon who was an unbelievable snowmobile rider. We went on a ride at midnight one night and even though it was pitch dark we went off some huge jumps and climbed the steepest hills he could find. At first, I thought I was going to die, but then I just held on as tight as I could and enjoyed it. It was so much fun!

A Perfect Season!

Basketball came to an end this past weekend and it couldn't have ended any better. We finished 26-0 and beat Wendell by 24 points for the state championship. It was such a fun state tournament. I have coached these seniors since they were in 7th grade and it is sad to see them leave. You couldn't ask for a better group of kids and we have gotten pretty close as much time as we have spent together over the past 6 years. We lose 6 seniors that will be hard to replace but hopefully we will be back again next year!
